Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 4, 2026
pico cam is a camera app for taking, developing, saving, and sharing instant-style pictures. This Privacy Policy explains what information pico cam collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
This policy applies to the pico cam iOS app and the website at picocam.app.
If you have questions, contact us at hi@picocam.app.
Summary
pico cam is designed to be private by default.
- pico cam does not require an account.
- pico cam does not upload your photos to a pico cam server.
- Photos you take in the app are stored locally on your device unless you choose to save or share them elsewhere.
- Purchases for pico cam+ are handled by Apple and RevenueCat.
- The website may collect waitlist or support information that you choose to submit.
Information We Collect or Process
Photos and camera content
pico cam uses your camera so you can take pictures in the app. Photos you take are processed on your device and stored in the app's local gallery.
pico cam does not send your photos to us. We do not operate a server that receives, stores, reviews, or processes your photos.
If you choose to save a photo to your Photos library, iOS handles that save action using the permission you grant. If you choose to share a photo, the photo is sent only to the app, service, or person you select through the iOS share sheet.
Photo library access
pico cam may ask for permission to save images to your Photos library. The app uses this permission only to save photos when you choose to save them or when you enable an app setting that saves developed photos automatically.
Local app data
pico cam stores app data locally on your device, such as:
- pictures in your in-app gallery;
- photo metadata needed to display and manage your gallery;
- app settings;
- pico cam+ feature state;
- local counters used for the free tier, including how many pictures have been captured or developed without pico cam+.
Some local counters may be stored in the iOS Keychain so that the free tier cannot be reset accidentally by ordinary app data cleanup. This does not give pico cam access to your passwords, payment cards, or other Keychain items.
Purchase information
pico cam uses Apple and RevenueCat to provide pico cam+ purchases and subscriptions.
When you buy, restore, or manage pico cam+, Apple processes the payment. RevenueCat helps us check whether pico cam+ is active and manage purchase-related events.
We may receive purchase-related information from RevenueCat, such as:
- whether pico cam+ is active;
- which product was purchased;
- subscription status, renewal, expiration, cancellation, refund, or billing issue status;
- a RevenueCat customer identifier;
- device, app version, and purchase-related technical information needed to validate and support purchases.
We do not receive your full payment card number from Apple or RevenueCat.
Website and waitlist information
If you submit a form on picocam.app, such as a waitlist or contact form, we collect the information you choose to provide. This may include your email address and any message or answers you submit.
The website may be hosted by Vercel and may use Tally or another form provider to collect form submissions. These providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and timestamps as part of providing their services.
Support messages
If you email us or contact us for support, we collect the information you include in your message so we can respond and help you.
Information We Do Not Collect
pico cam does not:
- require you to create an account;
- upload your photos to a pico cam server;
- sell your photos;
- sell your personal information;
- use your photos for advertising;
- use your photos to train AI models;
- access your full Photos library unless you grant iOS permission for a specific supported action.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide camera, gallery, save, share, and pico cam+ features;
- check whether pico cam+ is active;
- process, restore, and support purchases;
- enforce the free tier;
- respond to support requests;
- operate the website and waitlist;
- prevent fraud or abuse;
- maintain the services we operate.
Sharing Information
We share information only as needed to operate pico cam and related services:
- Apple processes App Store purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and payment information. Apple's privacy information is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
- RevenueCat helps manage purchases, subscriptions, entitlements, and purchase analytics. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.
- Vercel may host the website. Vercel's privacy policy is available at https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Tally or another form provider may process website form submissions. Tally's privacy policy is available at https://tally.so/help/privacy-policy/.
- Service providers may process support email or website infrastructure data.
- We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to prevent fraud or abuse.
We do not sell your personal information.
Retention
Photos in the in-app gallery remain on your device until you delete them, delete the app, or iOS removes app data.
Local settings and free-tier counters remain on your device as needed to operate the app. Keychain-stored counters may remain after app deletion, depending on iOS behavior.
Purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their policies and as needed to manage purchases, refunds, subscriptions, and legal obligations.
Website form submissions and support messages are kept as long as needed to respond, manage the waitlist, provide support, or comply with legal obligations.
Your Choices
You can:
- deny camera or Photos permissions in iOS Settings, though some app features may not work;
- delete photos from the in-app gallery;
- delete the app to remove app data stored in the app container, though some local Keychain counters may remain depending on iOS behavior;
- manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings;
- contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold outside your device, such as waitlist or support information.
Because pico cam does not have accounts and stores photos locally, we generally cannot access or recover photos stored only on your device.
Because pico cam does not have accounts, we also cannot recover, transfer, or manually rebuild account-based app state that does not exist, including free tier counts, total picture counts, local settings, or other device-local app records.
Children
pico cam is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through the website or support email, contact us at hi@picocam.app and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
International Use
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including by Apple, RevenueCat, Vercel, Tally, and other service providers. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we handle. No app, website, or internet transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, Apple ID, and device passcode secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
